UGC NET Exam Purpose
The applicants who want to pursue a PhD degree from a government-aided university like a scholarship or stipend-based PhD degree or they want to pursue a teaching job career are interested in the UGC NET exam. The applicants who pass the JRF are eligible to get PHD admissions with a stipend and the other applicants who are without JRF will get marks of UG NET in the selection process of the Assistant Professor posts in govt colleges.
UGC NET Exam Eligibility
The eligibility for the UGC NET Exam is given below.
- The applicants who have completed the master’s degree can apply for the UGC NET Exam in their subject code. The available subject codes for the UGC NET are more than 100, choose the right subject code.
- The percentage of marks of a person with a master’s degree should be more than 55%.
- The applicants whose degree is of 4 years can also apply for the UGC NET exam.
UGC NET June 2024: Age Limit
The age limits for the UGC NET exam are given below.
- The lower and upper age limit for the UGC NET exam is not available for teaching posts, the UGC does not impose a bar on the upper age of the applicants, anyone can try for the UGC NET and pass the exam.
- There is an upper age limit for the JRF in UGC NET. Applicants with the age of a maximum of 31 years can apply for the JRF seats for the PhD admissions.
UGC NET June 2024: Application Fee
- The UGC Commission will charge an application fee of RS 1150 from the General candidates.
- The application fee for the OBC and EWS persons for the UGC NET Exam is Rs 600.
- The application fee for the SC/ST and PH persons for the UGC NET Exam is Rs 325.
UGC NET June 2024: New Exam Dates
